In case you missed it, we re-designed our entire website! We’re still working on odds and ends, but it’s coming along nicely. Our new site is based off of the Roots Theme and Bootstrap so it’s speed and responsive design has improved tremendously. In fact, our old site was not very responsive at all. When you collapsed the site, content was overflowing and causing a lot of display issues. We enjoyed developing our new theme with Roots and Bootstrap for a few reasons, which we will outline below.

Bootstrap Framework
First, Bootstrap is such a great framework for developing responsive sites. It sounds cliche but it really does cut out a lot of time when figuring out a layout that works for mobile devices and larger displays. The way you can set column widths and have it collapse at certain points is just amazing.
Roots was our Starter Theme
We used Roots for our starter theme. The theme is quite complicated at first, but once you get to understand how it works you can see how lightweight and sophisticated it is. We enjoyed the way Roots breaks out it’s templates and the fact that it already has Bootstrap built in.
